1. Slow Down Your Pace: Restrain your urge to talk fast for stamping your presence. When you speak at high rate, your speech and mind are not aligned. Consequently, you struggle to balance that leads to loss of words. While speaking slowly, you get enough time to think while the audience gets more time to digest the information. As a result, you have better control and create a higher rhythm in your conversation.
2. Pause to Show Your Power: Take appropriate pauses while speaking. This displays your command over the conversation. Also take a pause to show that you are listening properly.
3. Mind Your Posture: Sit straight and look into the eyes to display confidence. Avoid adjusting your tie, scratching your hands or clearing your throat. All this shows your discomfort with the situation.
4. Ask Questions: Be creative while listening and ask questions that matter. The leaders are known by the kind of questions they ask. If they do not have a suitable response, probe further to help them discover. If they can’t, ask them to get ready and come back to you.
